How to add Disqus Comment system to your Wordpress Blog

  Literally pronounced ‘discuss’ is what many people are talking about. Disqus comment system allows more socialization with your comments and traffics. As a blog owner, you might be little more interested add this dynamic commenting system which is accessible from anywhere.

Adding Disqus comment system will increase your blog’s popularilty among the internet society. This is because Disqus easily supports large number of social networking sites and OpenID. As many of us have wordpress blog, I will guide you from very basic step to add a Disqus comment system with no coding required.

Before you go anywhere, you must register to a disqus account. Registering to disqus is a child’s play. Just fill up the form and you’ll have your disqus account ready. In any case, if you get confused, I have a brief steps with images to guide you through the setup of disqus account.

To register, go to DISQUS home page. When the page is loaded click on Sign up, Free button.

Next follow the basic instructions in the page.

You are done with disqus’s registration. Now you’ll have to add it to your Wordpress Blog. To add disqus comment system in your Wordpress Blog. Login to the administrator’s page, it’s usually http://www.website.com/wp-admin.

At the left sidebar, in Plugins menu block choose Add New. The link will bring you to widget installation page.

In the search form type in Disqus Comment System to find the latest disqus comment plugin for your blog.

The search query will show you many plugins related to disqus comment system. Look for Disqus Comment System in the list and click on Install Now link.

The pop-up window will ask your permission, click on OK button.

The plugin will be installed instantly. In the success page, click on Activate Plugin link to activate the comment system.

Once it is activated, you’ll have to reconfigure the comment system to your own disqus account which you have created just before. In the Plugins administration page click on Settings to load the configuration page.

Type your disqus username and password and click on next button.

Check on the radio button of the comment community page and click on next.

Then you’ll be redirect to success page.

You have successfully installed disqus comment system in your blog. Once the installation has been successful and the plugin has been activated, you can easily access the comments made to your website from Comments menu blog at the left sidebar of your Wordpress Control Panel.

How To Hide Any Drive Through Regedit

In the previous tutorial we showed you how you can hide your drives in explorer with command prompt, now its time to use some alternatives. Suppose that command prompt is locked, so what you will do? yes, that’s why we are using Registry Editor as an alternative.

You can hide any drive with a simple registry edit, by following the below steps -

1. Go to Start Menu > Run (WIN+R) > Type regedit and press enter, to launch Registry Editor.

2. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies

3. Right click on Policies > New > Key and rename it to Explorer (If Explorer Key is not there)

3. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

4. Now Right click on the right side pane and click on New > DWORD value and rename it as NoDrives

5. Now suppose you want to hide C drive, so right click on NoDrives > Modify

Change the Base Type to Decimal and Value Data to 4 (for C drive)

Similarly, for hiding other drives use different Value data from the below table-

To hide drive A and drive D, you would add 1 (A) + 8 (D) which means the value should be set to “9″.

6. Log Off and Log In back to see changes.

Create Your Own Icon For Windows 7 From Photoshop

Creating your own icon set might have been one of your great interests to beautify and make your desktop unique from others.  The most basic icon set you can create is from any kind of image. But the Windows most of the time uses Icon files (.ico) as icons.

In this tutorial, you’ll be guided through step by step methods to create your own custom icons for your custom application. We will be using Photoshop CS4 to create our own icon.

But before you open Photoshop you must make sure that your Photoshop have ability to save in .ico format. By default, Photoshop doesn’t have such ability. To make your files to save in .ico format, download the ico format saver from here.

Extract the downloaded file and copy ICOFormat.exe it to Plugins-folder of Photoshop in Program files.

After you’ve copied it you will be able to save any image file in .ico format from Photoshop.

Designing  your own icon

Open Photoshop and create 128X128 px Photoshop document with transparent background.

Draw your own icon design with no background in it.

After you’ve designed it well, go to File > Save As (Shift + Ctrl + S).

In Format field choose Windows Icon (ICO) and type any icon name for your icon.

Since we’ve created our custom icon, let’s apply it to any program. Open the program that you want to set your own icon. Let’s see wit Notepad.exe.

Right Click on the Taskbar Icon of the program again right click on the program name and choose Properties.

In Properties window, click on Change Icon button.

Then browse to your Icon file location and Open the icon.

Click on OK to finalize your choice.

Close the program and load it again,

You’ll have the icon changed to your custom one.

In this way you can create large number of icon sets to make your desktop unique from others.
